lookbook
210mm x 297mm
A lookbook for RCA graduate, Matthew Miller's first collection Masculinity and his jovial approach to the macabre.
Combining the harsh realities of war with a childlike sensitivity; horror against aesthetic cuteness. Knitwear comes with deliberately cute 3D skulls embedded into the sleeves. Form-fitting grey trousers come in wool and tweed. The white shirt is reinvented with felt pockets, over and under-sized proportions, a pique half waistcoat and a laser-cut dancing skeleton bib that moves with the body.
Polka dot bomb symbols proliferate across coats; unexploded pom-poms dangle from a cardigan and raw denim comes with an original print of ‘modern-day scout badges’. Finishing the collection are felt clip-on bow ties and wooden spectacles in an array of colours.
